I tried the following programs that did NOT work. This download is a standalone package of Creative Sound Blaster Live! 5.1 software meant for existing 5.1 card users who have lost their installation CD. It also includes the following Creative Audio software suite. This applies to all Live!

Driver from the original cd (Which would not recognise the driver.).I have aslo tried you're suggestion of installing the driver posted in you're blog and putting it in XP mode compatible,but the problem still persists saying: 'Setup could not detect any sound blaster audio card in your system.' I'm pretty sure it's a Live 5.1, but I'm afraid I'll have to pull it out of the machine first.I've also tried extracting the files to a folder and by installing the new drivers navigate to that folder. Didn't work either.When I did that while internet drivers (by MS I presume) where installed through 'Update drivers' and then navigated to the unpacked information it mentioned that the drivers installed where up to date. (However the sound was still crap.)Any other ideas? Says:November 10th, 2007If you get the 'unable to detect' error message, here's the fix (this has been a known fix for years - even for Windows XP):Install a program like WINRAR so you can right-click the downloaded.EXE and extract it to a folder.
In the folder is another compressed folder called DRIVERS - extract that one too. Inside THAT folder is a program called 'CTZAPXX'.
Run it - it will ask if you want to install the drivers (gee, you think we do after all this?). Once you accept the install, it will ask for a reboot. Its installed my creative 5.1 drivers, but just in case i downloaded the realtek hd audio manager. When test the 5.1 all the speakers work perfectly, but whenever i reproduce a song only the 2 front side ones work, i would like to know if there is any configuration i would need to change on the wmp, although Ive searched all over and havent found anything.Million thanks. I run the cd for it but all i get is the blue window that asks which language and after i click english I get nothing. I have tried everything to find a driver online but no sucess gggrrrr.
There is no drivers for it at all on my computer or for my speakers any sujestions? And dont tell me get a new system my bf is way to cheap to do that. Loloh yeah and I am moderatly computer literate so step by step directions would be a great help.Thanks guys.

Why is the RIVA128 card driver included but not SB driver? (came out at the same year)??Any idea where to get win7 drivers for my sb 5.1 card?p.s. Says:December 12th, 2009Just got this working 12/12/09 using some tips above summarized:Goto Creative's support page and search for 'LiveDrvUni-Pack(ENG)' then download to desktop.Single right-click the executable icon on the desktop (the one you just downloaded), then single left click 'Properties'. Select 'Compatibality' tab in the properties box and check box 'Run this program in compatability mode for:' (I selected WinXp SP2).Apply/OK then double click the executable to run this old Creative install program. It may not work for everyone, but this install worked for my Win7 installation and kept working after reboot. Update, but Windows 7 does not allow it to be installed because it is not a digitally signed driver. It also seems Creative is no longer supporting these old cards with new driver updates.I love the card though. I have bought more recent sound cards and the sound of this card is still much better than the more recent sound cards I have bought. So I would like to keep using it if possible.Are there any driver solutions?

Go to:h.p://drivers.softpedia.com/progDownload/Creative-Sound-Blaster-Live-Live-5-1-kX-Driver-51003548-x64-Download-82308.htmlDun forget to replace the 'http' in the link.Install it. And it requests u to reboot.
Then Right mouse click on the speaker on ur taskbar. Select playback devices then select 1 of the 3 or 4 choices given where it says kX. U can identify it by selecting test. U will now hear sound form ur speak or in my case, dual sound card use for DJ mixing purposes.Good Luck, i hope this helps.Ys,RoxX.
