I have several Dell Desktop computers that their Keyboard and Mouse have stopped working. The only way I can get them to start working again is to do a system restore back to a previous date.I have tried known good mouse and keyboards, Hardware and Firmware updates, Uninstalling and reinstall the USB root hub driver.I have Mouse and Keyboard in BIOS and the 'Recovery'/Startup repair portion/EUFI, but as soon as windows boots they all lose the KB and mouse.

So I figured out the only way to get to the recovery console was to get to the logon screen and then pull the power cord. This worked after 3 goes and I was able to get into the recovery console and advanced and select a system restore point before the 14th February when the update was applied. I had the same issues on 4 Dell OPtiplexes (all mini desktop tower versions), theKB4074588patch was the cause and it basically disables the driver.
If you look in device manager you will see both keyboard and mouse listed under 'Other devices' and a yellow warning triangle. If you go into properties you will see no driver is installed. If you click 'Update Driver' it just says it can't find one and if you select the look on my PC and point it at c:WindowsSystem32DriverStore it looks but again fails.
