Ms Windows Small Business Server 2003 Standard Edition

A volume representing the OS (C:) is nearly out of free disk space after a recent OS upgrade (SBS 2000 to SBS 2003, SE); the OS volume is associated with Disk 0 / Container 0; there is currently 20+ GB of free (unallocated) disk space that is alsoassociated with Disk 0 / Container 0. I attempted to incorporate or merge that free / unallocated disk space with the OS volume by converting Disk 0 / Container 0 to a Dynamic Disk using the native Computer Management tool; however, I received the followingerror message (in so many words) when I attempted to extend the OS volume: Volume cannot be extended due to the fact that it is either a basic disk or it was created using an older operating system. Dell (OEM) recommended using Partition Magicin order to address this issue; however, it appears that Symantec/Norton is no longer selling that product. As a result, I am attempting to determine if there is an alternative tool/application that can be used in order to correct this low disk spaceissue.

Any feedback or advice would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your help. To free up disk space, consider these options:1. If you are not doing an Exchange-aware backup, you may a disk full of 5mb.log files taking up space.2. If you are using WSUS, you may be able to clear up disk space by doing a WSUS cleanup.3. Once you get some space back, you might have enough room to defrag your Exchange stores.-Kevin Weilbacher (SBS MVP)'The days pass by so quickly now, the nights are seldom long'MVP's do NOT work for Microsoft. Brent, I am always hesitant to tell someone to uninstall a product on an SBS server. The SBS team does such a great job in bring all these separate server products (such as Exchange, Sharepoint, DNS, DHCP, AD, Fax, etc.) and making them work, I hate to ripsomething out, even if it's not being used.Because of this, there's no guarantee that uninstalling something like Exchange won't severely impact your server. Even simply disabling the Exchange services will impact the ability to generate and deliver performance monitoring reports and alerts.Best thing to do is to do a full image backup of your server, replace existing drive(s) with larger drives, create bigger partitions, and then restore your image. Also, you do know that there is a whitepaper on moving certain modules off the C: drive, yes? If not, take a look here:-Kevin Weilbacher (SBS MVP)'The days pass by so quickly now, the nights are seldom long'MVP's do NOT work for Microsoft.
